SUNSHINE COAST CYCLE INFRASTRUCTURE
LD STUDIO CREATED NINE ARTIST IMPRESSIONS FOR PROPOSED SEPARATED CYCLE TRACK INFRASTRUCTURE AS PART OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FOR THE SUNSHINE COAST COUNCIL ACTIVE TRANSPORT CORRIDORS.
In 2024 & 2025, the Design and Placemaking Branch of the Sunshine Coast Council to assist in communicating new cycle infrastructure plans to various stakeholders, from Elected Councillors to the wider community. Stakeholder engagement focused on two Active Transport Corridor projects that aimed to deliver safe and comfortable routes to significantly increase the number of people walking and riding in these communities. This included the Caloundra to Currimundi (C2C) and the Mooloolaba to University (M2U) Active Transport Corridors.
Council had drafted engineering concept plans and required artist impressions to help visualise the new cycle track and walking infrastructure. This included wombat crossings near schools, separated cycle track infrastructure on and off roads, and a new protected roundabout. The artist impressions were successful in engaging stakeholders and illustrating complex engineering plans in a simple and easy to understand way.and can relate more to an image. The artist impressions were used in digital and print collateral with current and proposed street images overlaid for easy reference.
